Classes at Gallery 204
 

    Soap stone carving by member Jeannie Ortiz begins Monday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.  Cost for each class is $20.00.  Materials and tools will be provided.  Jeannie is an accomplished artist in several mediums.  She is also teaching with Vista Unified School District.  We are happy to add her to our roster of teachers at Gallery 204.  For more info please phone 271-8470.

    Watercolor with Char Cee begins this month.  Char Cee is a noted watercolorist who also works in oils.  Char Cee has a large market for her works and is very prolific.  Her style is loose and free and fun – whether watercolor or oil.  Char Cee is a favorite with visitors to Southern California and has a large following south of the border.  She is also a past president of COAL gallery in Carlsbad and noted for her excellent demos.  See www.charcee.com.

    Oil Painting with Karen Brake is a Tuesday evening class from 6:00- 8:00 PM featuring still life in oil.  Karen received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from University of North Texas in 1986. After receiving several degrees in commercial art, Karen spent 20 plus years on her career in graphic art, illustration, and web design for the entertainment and communication industries. During her years as a commercial artist, she was commissioned for several paintings and found that the lure of the brush was mightier than the mouse. Class fee is $65.00 per month. Expressive Arts Therapy

 2-Session Intro: Wednesdays, Oct 1 & 8, 2008 – 6 to 8 pm

& Wednesdays, Oct 22 & 29, 2008 – 6 to 8 pm

6-Sessions Series: Wednesdays, Nov. 5, 12, 19, 26, Dec. 3 & 10, 2008 – 6 pm to 8 pm

 

Life is more about the journey than the destination…

 

These are classes for beginners as well as for confident artists, since the approach and the exercises are innovative, engaging, playful and comprehensive of life’s joys and issues. We will use a variety of art media like paper collage, acrylic, watercolor, oil pastel, clay and printmaking, as well as music. This is a relaxed class where participants receive lots of personal guidance.

 

You will access and learn to express your own personal style of art making, by advancing your artistic and expressive skills in visual art. You will deepen your understanding of and express the deep connection between your unconscious and your intuition, creativity, hands-on art making. Moreover, if you are engaged in a helping profession, you’ll find this class to be a rich, practical training to enhance your ability to assist children, teens, adults and seniors, in a meaningful and playful way.

  

 

No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to enjoy the creative process.
