"Red Barns" by Donald Martin
Don Martin is a San Diego native who has been artistic since he was a young child. He took art classes at San Dieguito High School in Encinitas and Grossmont College in La Mesa. Don really zeroed in on his art after he became a paraplegic in a motorcycle accident in June of 1988 at age 23 when his art career began in earnest. Starting with his love of vintage airplanes and cars, Don branched out into painting traditional landscapes. He also loves to paint birds with an emphasis on Owls. His favorite media are watercolor, pen and ink, and mixed media. He has also dabbled in oil painting from time to time. In 2006, Don’s mom, Marilyn formed M & M Art in order to showcase Don’s paintings and mom’s baskets. Don is a member of the Vista Art Foundation and the Oceanside Friends of the Library and has participated in the following art venues locally:
● Oceanside Days of Art
