About the Artist:

Larry Larroquette was born and raised in New Orleans, LA.  As a teenager he became interested in photography as a hobby.  Over the years he took many photos and stored them in the typical way.…in albums, shoe boxes and drawers.  Larry particularly enjoyed shooting landscapes, seascapes, architecture and nature. These quickly became his favorite subjects. With a background in Marine Engineering, he grew to better understand perspective, scale and composition in the shooting of his photographic subjects.

In 1998 Larry and his wife Suzan moved from New Orleans to the San Diego area.  During that time Larry became keenly interested in the process of taking photos digitally.  Digital photography opened up a whole new way of preserving photographs.  Storing his photos as computer files turned out to be a much better way of organizing and storing images because he could then print only those images that were of further interest to him.

In the last several years Larry has completed preparation in digital photography to improve his nuanced interest. He began attending local art shows and became intrigued in art pieces identified as digital art.  Larry became so interested in the process of transforming his images into digital art pieces that he continued to pursue many avenues to refine his craft.  After gaining proficiency in using computer software and developing a technique he liked, Larry joined the Vista Art Foundation and the Carlsbad-Oceanside Art League to display his art.  In a very short time Larry had received several awards from both galleries.  It has proved to be much more satisfying to have his digital art displayed in the art galleries rather than having his images stored away in albums, shoeboxes and drawers.
